If you live in a community with a LittleBird video intercom system, visitors can call you from a unit and request entry into the community.

Accept a video call

If your community's intercom system includes a video display, you’ll receive a notification of an incoming call from one of the community’s gates.

(Note: You won’t receive this notification if you’ve disabled video calls in your LittleBird app settings or if you’ve disabled notifications for the LittleBird app on your mobile device.)

  1. Tap the notification on your mobile device to see the incoming call. You’ll see a snapshot from the camera so you can decide whether to accept or reject the incoming call.

  2. Choose how you want to respond to the incoming call.

    • To allow the visitor in immediately, tap the Open Gate button.

    • To reject the call immediately, tap the Decline button. The call will end and they will not be able to enter the community.

    • To accept the call, tap the Accept button. You’ll then be connected to a video stream from the gate where you can see and hear the visitor. (The video only goes one way, so they can’t see you.)

  3. Have a brief conversation with the visitor and decide whether you want to let them in.

    • To end the conversation and allow the visitor to enter, tap the Open Gate button at any time during the call. The call will end and the visitor will be notified that they’re permitted to enter. The gate will unlock, and they’ll be able to enter the community.

    • To end the conversation and prevent the visitor from entering the community, tap the Hang Up button at any time during the call. The call will end and the visitor will be notified that access was declined. They will not be able to enter the community.

Accept a phone call

If the community’s intercom system doesn’t currently have a video display, you’ve disabled video calls in your LittleBird mobile app settings, or you don’t accept an incoming video call within the expected window, you’ll receive an incoming call from the gate as a traditional phone call.

  1. Answer the phone as you normally would.

  2. Listen to the announcement instructions.

  3. After a moment, you’ll be connected to a phone conversation with the visitor at the gate.

  4. Have a brief conversation with the visitor and decide whether you want to let them in.

  5. To end the call and deny entry to the visitor, simply hang up.

  6. To unlock the gate for the visitor, press the star (*) key. Then, after a brief pause, press 2. The call will end and the visitor will be notified that access was granted. The gate will unlock, and they’ll be permitted to enter.
